Physician Assistant Master's Degree Completion Program (Online)

The Master’s in Physician Assistant Completion Program consists of 30 credits. The program includes four courses (12 credits) of study in a distance-learning format. These courses will cover content areas not previously covered in BS degree programs which may now be incorporated in current MSPAS curriculum. The program and distribution of credits and courses by term is depicted in the diagram below:

  • Number of terms for part-time study
    Students may complete this program part-time in four consecutive semesters and will be completed with the program in one calendar year.
  • Delivery (day, evening, weekend)
    The program is delivered online using web-assisted learning to allow for flexibility in the delivery. The courses will be asynchronous, provided required examinations, assignments and research paper deadlines are met.
  • Academic Progress
    Continuation in the program is contingent upon semester achievement assessments. A minimum of a B- in each course and evidence of adherence of professional standards according to the PA Completion Program Handbook is required. In addition a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 is required for graduation and degree conferral.
  • Assessment of quality and effectiveness of program
    (completion rates, alumni accomplishments, faculty performance)
    The Master’s in Physician Assistant Completion Program will be assessed for quality and effectiveness using student satisfaction exit surveys including retention and graduation rates. Student progress will be reviewed using various indicators to assess competency in critical thinking, communication and evidence based practice.
