CHP Scholarship Day: On Tuesday April, 24th, the College of Health Professions hosted the annual Scholarship Day Celebration, a gathering of CHP students, faculty, and staff in celebration of research and scholarship. The event, hosted by the CHP Center of Excellence - ALPS, was held simultaneously on the Pleasantville and New York City campuses with video-conferenced presentations and digital displays of student and faculty posters. A record turnout of 350 participants gathered in celebration of this year's theme, “Transforming Healthcare Through Inter-Professional Practice", and the enthusiasm and professionalism of the students presenting their posters on a variety of critical issues certainly spoke to their leadership potential. Dean Harriet Feldman gave greetings and presented 2 Dean's Awards. The Dean's Award for Outstanding Teaching was presented to Dr. Sharon Stahl Wexler; and the Dean's Award for Outstanding Research/Scholarship was presented to Dr. Andrea Sonenberg.
To learn about Scholarship Day, check out this booklet of all the posters presented, highlighting the Best Student Posters in each program, and recognizing CHP faculty who received the 2016 Dean’s Awards.
Conference Sponsorship: In order to broaden students’ experience of the health professions, the Center sponsors students to attend professional conferences in the tri-state area. In the past these have included: Sigma Theta Tau Zeta Omega Chapter Research Day; the Annual Isabel Maitland Stewart Nursing Research Conference at Teacher’s College, Columbia University; NYU Hospitals Center Departments of Nursing Annual Research and Evidence-Based Nursing Practice Conference.
