Jacqueline Knapp has been working as a professional actress for 40 years. She was Maggie in the Tony Award winning Broadway play: Dancing At Lughnasa. She’s been in numerous Off-Broadway plays, and has appeared in 23 Regional Theatres in over 30 plays. She’s had running roles on soap operas, guest roles in television series-including Law & Order, Boardwalk Empire, The Blacklist, Blue Bloods, The Defenders and The Leftovers. She worked with Al Pacino in You Don’t Know Jack, Tom Hulce in Dominick & Eugene, J.T. Petty’s Hellbenders, and A Song Still Inside. A voice-over artist for many years, Jacqueline was the voice for CBS TV’s public service series, Reach Out. She was also the voice for PBS TV’s Who Is She? – a short series about women painted and sculpted by famous artists.
Jacqueline also appeared in the PBS documentary Acting Through Life. She wrote and produced television specials for several years with her then husband, SNL Director Don King. She gives her workshop, The Creative Core, independently, as well as for the incoming class at ASDS. Jacqueline is also a private acting coach, and has had the honor of working with such esteemed professionals as Ben Stiller. She is a lifetime member of the Actors Studio, where she was under the amazing tutelage of Lee Strasberg, Elia Kazan, Arthur Penn, and Ellen Burstyn. She was former Co-Associate Artistic Director and is presently the Secretary of the Board of Directors, and serves on the Studio’s Executive Committee. Jacqueline continues to moderate for the Actors Studio’s acting sessions.
