Pace University’s MA in Management for Public Safety and Homeland Security Professionals prepares students to meet the challenges of a post-9/11 world and natural disasters. These challenges include preventing crime and terrorist attacks, protecting against human and natural hazards, and managing large-scale safety plans for both the public and private sectors.
The program is designed for professionals who are already in the field and need to enhance their expertise, or career changers looking to leverage their management experience to enter an exciting and demanding profession. The program is also designed to include those graduating from an undergraduate program and are looking for a career in the broad field of homeland security.
- Fast and flexible—The program can be completed in two years from the convenience of your home or office through online coursework. In addition, three one-day classroom or videoconference sessions per year are required. The in-classes sessions are held on Saturdays at Pace’s Pleasantville Campus .These resident sessions (in person or online) are roughly scheduled during the third week of August, mid-November and mid-February.
- Developed and taught by leaders in the field—Our faculty are at the forefront of the profession, with diverse backgrounds and experiences with a variety of organizations, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI); Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); state and local police, fire, and public health organizations; and corporate security firms.
- Unique programming, unique partnerships—Pace is one of the select few universities to partner with the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security, giving students access to their curriculum, distance learning technology, Homeland Security Digital Library, and other resources.
