College Fed Challenge

The Pace University Federal Reserve Team is an award-winning team that is comprised of Dyson College Economics and Business Economics majors. The team won the 16th annual national College Fed Challenge in 2019, marking the fourth time in six years that Pace has won the prestigious competition. Since 2010, Pace students have won the competition more than any other school, with Harvard University’s team winning only twice in the same time frame. Read about their experience here.

The College Federal Reserve Challenge is a competition that tests students' understanding of the US economy, monetary policymaking, and the role of the Federal Reserve System. Teams analyze economic and financial conditions and formulate a monetary policy recommendation, modeled on the work of the Federal Open Market Committee. It is an invaluable experience in which participants have the opportunity to think analytically, make effective presentations, and work together as they answer questions from a panel of senior Federal Reserve officials.

Recognizing the recent success of the Federal Reserve Challenge Team, President Marvin Krislov said, "I am deeply proud of the Pace University team. This team's dedication and success as well as that of their professors is a great example of the experiential learning and meaningful mentorship that is the hallmark of the Pace Path. The team members are exemplary students and their drive and determination has paid off with this great victory."
