The History department at Pace University’s New York City campus will stretch your mind and challenge you, while teaching you skills you can use in a variety of careers. We offer a BA in History, which is a flexible major that allows you to experiment, explore and take control of your education.
Studying history prepares you to think clearly, to interpret evidence and to confront complex issues in informed ways. Our program gives you the opportunity to study state power, ethnic and religious conflict, sexual oppression, racial hierarchies, and wealth and war in the fields of American, European, Asian, African, Latin American, and Middle Eastern history. We provide students with an excellent preparation for law school, graduate work, teaching, and a variety of private and public service positions. The history major is linked to graduate programs within Pace, such as the Pre-Law curriculum, the Master of Public Administration, and the Master of Science in Teaching.
We are also closely connected to the BA in Latin American Studies and the Bachelor of Arts in Global Asia Studies, and are affiliated with the Confucius Institute at Pace University. We have a wide range of programs to offer you within our department, and whether you are interested in a minor in Classical/Medieval Studies, an internship in museums or in public affairs, or a career in college teaching, you will find scholarly or practical opportunities that will enhance your educational experience.
