Chair's Welcome

Welcome to the Mathematics Department on Pace University’s Pleasantville campus.

The versatility of mathematics as a course of study is a great first step toward achieving an outstanding career of your choice. The demand for qualified mathematically-trained individuals is found in nearly every industry and profession including biological and physical sciences, computer science, economics, engineering, finance, actuarial work, operations research, education and political science.

We provide a wide spectrum of mathematics and statistics courses, which incorporate a carefully designed mix of applied and theoretical components. Many of the courses are part of the University core curriculum, fulfilling degree requirements for various majors. Our goal is to demonstrate the power and beauty of mathematics and provide our students with the logical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical thinking skills necessary to compete in today’s complex global environment. We constantly strive to improve the knowledge acquisition of our students through continual refinement of the instructional process.

We offer the two undergraduate majors: a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics as well as a minor in Mathematic. All of our programs, while structured, are often crafted to suit the individual needs of the student. Many of our courses are offered online.

Wherever your interests may lie, you will be welcomed into a department that cares about your success, and whose outstanding faculty are nurturing teachers and advisors as well as productive scholars and research mathematicians.
