Theater History - BA Acting & Directing (International Performance Ensemble)
Carlyle Owens has appeared onstage at McCarter Theatre Center, Shakespeare and Company, Great Lakes Theatre Festival, Cleveland Play House, and Monomoy Theater, among others. His work in NYC includes being an ensemble member of Peculiar Works Project, The Otterbein Group, and About Face Theater, as well as appearances in a number of off-off Broadway productions. He has also worked as a visiting artist in numerous high schools in New York City and New Jersey. The directors he has worked with include Gerald Freeman, Tina Packer, John Hadden, Barry Rowell, Robert Lanchester, Edward Cornell and David Hurst.
Carlyle taught theater history, acting, voice, auditioning, juggling and mask work during his time as a member of the resident acting company at the Cleveland Play House, the About Face Theater, the Laurel School, Middlesex County College, Ocean County College High School for the Performing Arts and Ohio University. He has also worked as a visiting artist in numerous high schools in New York City and New Jersey. He is a founding member of Raconteur Radio, performing staged radio plays throughout New Jersey and in NYC.
