    The world's largest professional organization for individuals interested in anthropology. Contains very  useful information for students considering majors in anthropology, as well as job search tips for anthropology graduates.
  • American Sociological Association
    The largest professional association for sociologists in North America. Contains resources for student job-seekers, copies of research reports, and funding opportunities for students attending graduate school. Their segment on “careers and jobs” is very useful for students considering a major in sociology.
  • Contexts magazine and blog
    A publication of the American Sociological Association, Contexts is a “quarterly magazine that makes sociology interesting and relevant to anyone interested in how society operates.”
  • Eastern Sociological Society
    A professional association for sociologists based in the eastern portion of the United States. Offers a very affordable student membership.
  • International Visual Sociology Association
    An international association of sociologists which promotes “the study, production, and use of visual images” in sociological practice.
