MCVA Students Make Connections
A networking event on the Pleasantville campus brought together industry professionals and communications students.
If it truly is all about who you know, Dyson students got an inspiring head start at the Connections in Communications event on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.
Organized by the Media, Communications and Visual Arts department on the Pleasantville campus, the affair was an intimate, informal program, including refreshments and time for one-on-one interaction with more than fifteen professionals working in all facets of communications, from social media to sports journalism. Nearly all graduated from Pace, and their employers include NBC Sports, News 12, Crown Media Group, and the Cardiovascular Research Foundation.
Held in the Friedman Multipurpose Room in Willcox Hall, the event provided an opportunity for students to learn about the variety of options in the field of communications and hear from some recent graduates about how they landed their first job, said event organizer Michelle Pulaski Behling, PhD, associate professor/associate chair, Media, Communications, and Visual Arts.
“I was able to meet a lot of people and really practice networking,” said Magen Wolmart ’20. “It was nerve wracking at first, but the professionals offered great advice and knowledge about the communications field. Now, I have more confidence in my networking skills.”
