Our programs are designed to provide students with the mathematics skills they will need to compete successfully in today’s challenging job market. We employ the latest technology to help students succeed. We offer online instruction, using interactive websites that give students instant feedback on their work, and employ the Blackboard system to enhance communication between faculty members and students.
The Mathematics Department on the Pleasantville campus is committed to providing students with a supportive learning environment that includes small classes, allowing for productive interaction; personalized attention; and guidance from dedicated faculty.
Class sizes are deliberately kept small so that faculty members and students get to know each other and work effectively together to create an interactive and successful learning environment.
Our internship program enables qualified students to pursue an internship at one of the many corporations in the Hudson Valley. Such an experience broadens a student’s perspective and provides the opportunity to apply knowledge in a professional setting that can often lead to full-time employment.
All of our programs include a capstone course in which each student is required to complete a research project under the guidance of the instructor and present the results of the research to students in the class and members of the faculty.
Recent graduates have become actuaries, engineering and computer consultants, financial analysts, teachers, insurance agents, laboratory technicians and research assistants, and many Mathematics majors choose to attend graduate school in math or related fields.
