The Sports Media and Broadcast Minor will expose students to various careers in the industry through hands-on and observational exercises. The program will provide an overview of key areas including theory, broadcasting, writing and ethics. Students will be better prepared to embark upon internships and jobs in the sports industry as a result of enrolling in the minor. Students will be ready for a variety of positions in the sports media field, such as sports producer, camera operator, announcer, video editor, sound technician, production assistant, and sports information director.
The program consists of 15 total credits. Students are required to complete JRN 207 Sports Journalism, MCA 270 Sports Broadcasting, and MCA 309 Sports Media. In addition, two electives must be selected to complete the program.
