Housing Information for 2014-2015

  

Pace is proud to offer an exciting variety of housing options. Residence Life in New York is a reflection of the city itself – dynamic, diverse, unique. Pace’s residential program serves as a supportive environment for students to live and learn, complementing their education within an environment that also facilitates their personal and interpersonal development.

For the 14-week Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters, Pace offers housing in 3 exciting locations to ELI students. Please read each description below and indicate on your Housing application which building you prefer to live at.

 

OPTION 1

182 Broadway (The corner of Broadway and John Street, Manhattan 10038)

$7, 900 (Triple) for 14 weeks

$8,000 (Double) for 14 weeks

This brand new residence hall comprises floors 4-23 of an all new facility. The building, opening to residents for the first time in Fall 2013, will house approximately 600 Pace University students. Each room features a cable TV connection, an Ethernet connection (NO CORD PROVIDED) and wireless internet throughout the building.  Rooms are fully furnished with bed, desk, dresser, wardrobe and desk chair for each resident.  There is also a bathroom attached to each double or triple room.  Windows have privacy shades, and the floors are tiled.  The 4th floor common area includes student lounge, quiet study area, game room,  meeting/screening room, kitchen, laudry facilities, fitness center and staff offices.  Mailboxes are located on the ground floor, in the private entry l obby for Pace residents.

Special notes for 182 Broadway Residence Hall:

  • Maximum capacity of student residents: 608
  • Each floor has 9 triple rooms, 2 double rooms and one RA single
  • 182 Broadway has 23 floors total, but residents only live on 5-23
  • 4th floor amenities include a range of common use rooms, laundry facilities, kitchen and staff offices
  • Triple and double room with attached private bathrooms for each room
  • Bed style: Standard twin (loftable; in some rooms, beds are REQUIRED to be lofted due to available space or room configuration)
  • 24 Hour Security - students must show ID as they enter
  • Resident students are required to purchase a supplemental meal plan, based on their class level and their building assignment.  Please click here for more information.
  • Cable Service: Cable service is provided to all University-owned residence halls, through the University, by an agreement with local cable service providers.  One cable port is available PER ROOM.  Only one television is permitted in each unit.  Cable Channel Line-up

 

OPTION 2

The historic St. George (Weller Building at 100 Henry Street, Brooklyn Heights)

$7, 200 for 14 weeks. *Students are typically placed in double rooms with native English speakers

Enjoy living in the historic Brooklyn Heights district just a few minutes and two subway stops away from Pace's downtown campus. The St. George is only two blocks from Montague Street, well known for its restaurants, shopping, and cultural activities.

Residents share access to amenities that include lounges, gourmet kitchen facilities, a theatre room, study group meeting rooms, and laundry facilities. The St. George provides all of the charm and safety of historic Brooklyn Heights, with the convenience of a Manhattan commute complex as the 2/3 express subway train, which runs straight through the center of Manhattan. The building is just two stops away from the Pace University subway stop at Fulton Street station. The tree lined streets of Brooklyn heights are just 2 blocks from the famous beautiful Brooklyn Heights Promenade waterfront district overlooking the Manhattan skyline. In addition, numerous cafes, parks and retail shops are within walking distance of the residence.

Option 3

The building features a TV Lounge located on the 2nd floor, and a study lounge, performing arts rehearsal space, laundry room, and fitness room located on the 3rd floor.  All resident rooms are equipped with Cable, an Ethernet connection (NO CORD PROVIDED) and wireless internet throughout the building.  Laundry machines in this building  are from Maytag (provided by Macgray) and are FREE of charge to all residents.

  • Residents on floors 4 through 15
  • Maximum capacity of student residents: 200
  • Window treatment: black window blinds (provided)
  • Private bathrooms
  • Wired and wireless internet access
  • Fitness Center on site
  • Bed style: Standard twin (loftable; in some rooms, beds are REQUIRED to be lofted due to available space or room configuration)
  • 24 Hour Security
  • Apartments on floors 7 through 15 have full kitchens (stove, oven, refrigerators, dishwasher and sink).
  • Apartments on floors 4, 5 and 6 do not have complete kitchens.  These apartments have "galley kitchens" with sinks and small refrigerators.  They also have a space for students to place a microwave, but stove, oven, refrigerators and dishwasher are not included with these rooms.

Summer 2014 and Summer 2015 Housing

There will be NO on-campus housing available at Pace University for ELI students during the Summer 2014 or Summer 2015 sessions (Summer I or Summer II).  Students that require housing are encouraged to contact Sara's Homestay, a company our students have worked with in the past, to find a homestay accomodation with an American family or see if space is available in an International student residence hall in Manhattan (not a Pace University residence hall).  You may find more information regarding Sara's Homestay online at www.sarahomestay.com

 

Applying for ELI Housing during Fall and Spring semesters

 

To be eligible for Housing as an ELI student, students must:

  1. Submit a complete application for admission to the ELI
  2. Submit a complete ELI Housing application, including the $1,200.00 non-refundable ELI Housing Deposit (written on the ELI Application)
  3. Students must be full-time ELI students over the age of 17 years old

Please note that Housing is limited at Pace Universtiy is reserved on a first come, first served basis.  ELI students are encouraged to apply early for Housing and will not be guaranteed until confirmed by the Office of Housing & Residential life upon receipt of the ELI Housing Application & Deposit.  Also, private rooms/single rooms are not available.
