July 5-30, 2021

Gain the English language and academic skills, and knowledge of the U.S. legal system, to succeed in an American law school and effectively conduct business with your legal clients.

For 11 years, law students and professionals from over 39 countries have participated in this unique program that combines intensive legal English instruction and learning beyond the classroom through guest speakers. Guest speakers come from diverse backgrounds and include attorneys, judges, advocacy groups, government officials, and judges. The English for Lawyers program instructors are highly specialized ESL-trained lawyers who bring real world experience to their classes.

In addition to courses, the English for Lawyers program includes a guest speaker series. In anticipation of 2021 courses being in-person, visits to local courthouses to view trials in progress are also included. Alternative opportunities for out of class learning will be made should the program be held online due to COVID19.

Part-time and full-time options are available for this 4-week program. Future international students of the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University that complete the full-time program (80-hours) can waive the TOEFL requirement from their LLM or JD application.
