Gain skills and knowledge that will help you take your career to the next level. Designed for future or early-career professionals who want to advance and are looking to improve their professional skills, this program is offered in two parts, which may be taken together or separately depending on the skills you want to improve.

Beginner and intermediate/high intermediate levels are available.

Career and Professional Communication Skills Career and Professional Writing Skills

Winter 2022 Courses will be held Online (Synchronous*).

*Our English PLUS Career and Professional Skills courses are delivered in a synchronous model. In this model, students and the instructor will meet live online on a set schedule. The course is taught online in real time using Zoom. Students will be required to participate at set times from their own home/residence hall or remote location.

Career and Professional Communication Skills

In this four-week course, you will level up your communication skills in an English language professional environment.

From interviewing and landing a job to successfully communicating your ideas in the workplace to gain the recognition you deserve, this course will give you practice in marketing yourself, attending and leading meetings, expressing agreement or disagreement effectively, communicating via telephone and video conferences, presenting your ideas with and without visual aids, and working with others collaboratively to produce effective individual and group presentations.

Career and Professional Writing Skills

In this four-week course, you will target your personal areas of improvement in writing across your career and professional life.

From resumes and cover letters to workplaces emails, SMS messages, communication platforms such as Slack and Teams, and more, this course is designed to improve your writing structure, organization, word choice, grammar, and more when producing written documents and other texts in any professional setting.

Whether you need to improve or start a LinkedIn profile to obtain a job, or you have a career and need to improve your ability to write reports and proposals to effectively communicate in writing, the strategies and tools provided in this course will ensure your writing is concise, accurate, and effective.

Community Rate Eligibility

These courses are offered at community rate pricing. This special rate is available to those residing in Westchester County in New York and Au Pairs. Our Admissions team will contact students enrolled at the community rate for proof of eligibility before classes begin. Proof of eligibility must be received before the first class session to confirm registration or else your registration will be reassessed at the regular price for the course.

Registration

All registration and payment for courses is done online. Registration deadline December 20, 2021.

You will have to take a placement exam so that you can be placed in the appropriate level. Once the results of your placement exam are reviewed you will receive a link to register and pay for the course.

Enrollment is limited and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first serve basis. No registration will be accepted until payment has been received. This requirement applies to all participants.
