Weekend Intensive Courses For Au Pairs
In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in New York State, all Pace University classes will be online until at least August 29, 2020. All courses listed below will be online. If you are interested in studying between May-August, please view our Online Intensive English courses.

Two-day weekend courses at our Westchester campus that have been specially created for au pairs. Get the credits you need for your J1 visa while studying several interesting, helpful and fun topics. Each course is 20 hours (including a pre-course assignment). There is an optional additional research assignment for an additional 20 hours, for a total of 40 hours possible for each weekend course.

All registration and payment for courses is done online.
If you have already taken a class (Weekend, Evening, Saturday, Weekday, or TOEFL Blast) with us before, you already have a university account. You MUST activate the account before registering for a new course. Please DO NOT create a new account. Please read the Online Registration Instruction including the Account Activation (PDF). Multiple accounts will make it difficult to verify classes you took for your credit hour requirement. If you get "Duplicate Course" message, please call (914) 422-4042 or email the English Language Institute.
Westchester campus classes may be held at the Pace University Law School campus in White Plains, New York, or the Pace University Pleasantville campus in Pleasantville, New York. Students in need of transportation between the campuses may use the Pace University shuttle service to travel between White Plains and Pleasantville. The exact campus location will be posted on the website once available. The location will also be sent in pre-arrival information the Wednesday before classes begin.
Weekend Intensive students may park in any space on the Pace University Law School campus on Saturdays or Sundays. Please identify yourself as an English Language Institute student to Security if necessary.
Please note we are a non-credit program. After finishing classes, au pair students will receive a certificate from Pace that confirms the number of hours they attended during the session. Minimum 85% attendance is required to receive a certificate for the full number of course hours. Any students who attend less than 85% will receive a certificate for the exact number of hours that they attended.
Payment and Tuition Cancellation Policy
Notification of your intent to cancel or withdraw from a course must be submitted by email to the ELI. Depending on the course, you may also be required to submit a "Registration Action Form" to the Office of Student Assistance. If the correct procedure is not followed, you will not receive a refund and you will receive an F for the course at the end of the term.

Weekend Intensive course students are not eligible for a Pace University ID card.
Course Completion Policy
Students who have attended and actively participated in 60% or higher of a 1-day or 2-day weekend intensive course are considered to have successfully completed a course. Students who successfully complete any course at the English Language Institute are eligible to receive certification for the hours attended. Please read the certificate policy below for certificate eligibility.
Certificate of Attendance Policy
Please note we are a non-credit program. After successfully completing a class (see above course completion policy), students will receive a certificate from Pace that confirms the number of hours they attended during the session. Minimum 85% attendance is required to receive a certificate for the full number of course hours. Any students who attend less than 85% will receive a certificate for the exact number of hours that they attended. Students who receive attend or participate in less than 60% of any 1-day or 2-day weekend intensive course are considered to have failed the course and are not be eligible for a certificate and will forfeit any hours attended.
The number of hours stated on the certificate is based on the average number of hours needed to complete the requirements of the assignment. Research assignments are due by the published deadline in the above course information and also as communicated in pre-arrival information sent by our Admissions team. Students may request an extension of up to 3 days by writing the Admissions team before the research assignment due date in writing to email@example.com. Requests for extensions after the research assignment due date will not be honored. Research assignments received after the due date or approved extended due date will not be accepted and the research assignment hours will be forfeited.
Students who registered and attended a weekend intensive course may add-on one (1) 20-hour research assignment for specific course and topic they attended no later than the Friday after the course completed. Requests to add on a 20-hour research paper after the Friday deadline will not be approved.
