Chris Rabb is an accomplished family historian, author, and thought leader at the intersection of social identity, civic innovation and equity.
From his own perspective as a descendant of both enslaved people and their enslavers, Mr. Rabb will speak about how social identity influences connectedness, community-building, and place-making in divisive times.
His 2023 Dyson Lecture will address issues including diversity in higher education and the recent Supreme Court decision in Students for Fair Admission v. Harvard.
About The Dyson Distinguished Lecture
The Dyson Distinguished Lecture was endowed in 1982 by a gift from the Dyson Foundation made possible through the generosity of the late Charles H. Dyson, a financier, entrepreneur, and philanthropist who was also a 1930 graduate, trustee, and long-time benefactor of Pace University. The Dyson Lecture highlights distinguished scholarly legal contributions in furtherance of Haub Law's educational mission. Prior Dyson lectures have been delivered by Dr. Cornel West, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson, and EEOC Commissioner Chai Feldblum.
This event is free and open to the public.
1 Diversity-Based Learning PD credit will be awarded to students who attend in person. PD credit will not be awarded for Zoom attendance.
