Faculty Resource Network (FRN)

Pace University is a member of The Faculty Resource Network (FRN) headquartered at New York University (NYU). The Network is a nationwide consortium of over 50 universities and colleges that collaborate for the purpose of faculty support and development. One of the FRN benefits available to full-time Pace faculty is the University Associate Program which offers free access to the Bobst NYU libraries, permission to audit a course for free, and invitations to attend seminars and colloquia organized by NYU.

Another offering of the FRN is the popular Summer Seminars, which run for one week in June at NYU. Each January a list of the upcoming seminars are distributed to Pace full-time faculty and there is an application process to follow. In addition to the Summer Seminar there is the Summer Scholar program, which runs for three to four weeks.

The Semester Scholar-in-Residence program allows Network faculty who are either on leave or sabbatical from their home institution to come to NYU to engage in research, develop curricula, and/or produce manuscripts for publication during the Fall or Spring semester. Throughout their residency at the University, Scholars confer periodically with NYU faculty who serve as Research Consultants and who are both aware of the Scholars’ project and knowledgeable in their field. Participation in the SIR program not only enhances the faculty members’ knowledge and skills, but also significantly contributes to the intellectual environment of their home institutions.

Over the years numerous Pace faculty members were awarded University Associate Status at NYU through the FRN.

For questions concerning FRN email the Executive Director James Stenerson, Ph.D. who is the liaison officer for Pace University.
