If you or your parent(s) are experiencing extenuating financial circumstances, such as: unemployment, medical expenses not covered by insurance, day care costs, elder care or private tuition for elementary or secondary education costs, we may be able to assist you.
The U.S. Department of Education permits financial aid administrators to exercise professional judgment to assist students and families who are experiencing exceptional financial hardships. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) asks for prior-prior year's income information to determine a student's financial need. Your family's current financial status may warrant replacing that year's information with current year's income projections. You may not make this change yourself. With submission of proper supporting documentation, we may exercise authority in making some appropriate changes that reflect your family's true financial status.
Please submit a detailed letter explaining your circumstances to firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also visit one of our Solution Center locations on your home campus or contact our office by phone at (877) 672-1830 (toll-free), or (212) 346-1930 (toll), to discuss your personal circumstances and receive guidance on maximizing financial aid.
