Len MitchellLen Mitchell, PhD
Interim Director, Pforzheimer Honors College, Pleasantville Campus

I happily teach in the philosophy and religious studies department (since 2008), where I am now a full-time lecturer.  My education background is Auburn University (in Alabama, the state I grew up in), Cumberland School of Law (in Birmingham, AL), New York University for two graduate law degrees, and CUNY Graduate Center (NYC) for my Ph.D. in philosophy.  Prior to studying philosophy, I was a tax lawyer with Time Warner, Inc. for 18 years, and practiced law in Alabama prior to that.

Over the years I have been involved with several social service, human rights, and health care organizations, and continue to be active with several of these organizations.  I live in Armonk, NY with my wife Janet.  Our son lives in NYC and our daughter lives in Cleveland.  On campus I play in the Pep Band (3rd trombone) and enjoy many activities with students.  Our dog Luca lives with my daughter in Cleveland, but visits fairly often…but not often enough.

Beginning this fall (2019),  I am looking forward to being the Interim Director of the Honors College on the Pleasantville Campus.  I look forward to meeting all Honors students and helping you have a rich college experience.

Jolina HalloranJolina Halloran, MBA
Academic Advisor,  Pforzheimer Honors College, Pleasantville Campus

I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Pace University. I have a BBA in Management Information Systems and an MBA in International Business. I started my career at Novartis (formerly known as Ciba-Geigy) in their IT department managing domestic & international networking projects. After taking some time off to raise my three sons, I came back to Pace University as a Program Coordinator in the Biology & Chemistry Departments where I worked for seven years before moving to the Pforzheimer Honors College as an Academic Advisor. I also teach UNV 101 for the Honors students.

College is a time of transition and our students are finding their way in the world.  I hope that my interactions with the students will make their path to achieving their desired academic and personal goals easier to achieve.

I am also the co-founder of the Break the Hold (BTH) Foundation. Our mission is suicide prevention. We provide emotional wellness & resilience education to local school districts in Westchester County. We are a 501c(3) aligned with the Mental Health Association of Westchester. Our foundation is currently working with the Pace University Psychology department to hire their PhD students for internships at local schools to teach our emotional wellness programs. This past spring 2019, The BTH Foundation was the keynote speaker at Pace University’s Active Minds/AFSP walk. The walk was well-attended and brought hope and inspiration to all! They have the walk every spring, so please join us!

I also have two dogs; Bella & Bailey (a rescue). I love to run and I practice yoga & mediation in my free time.
