Room Selection: All Gender Housing
In keeping with the mission of Pace University to promote and support diversity, the Office of Housing and Residential Life in New York City offers All Gender Housing options to students who demonstrate an interest in and need for such accommodation.
This process seeks to provide a living environment welcoming to all gender identities; one not limited by the traditional gender binary. All Gender housing allows for same-gender, opposite-gender, non-gender, gender-queer or other-gender identities to live together regardless of biological sex in a Platonic environment in which they feel safe and supported.
There is no formal application for All Gender Housing. Students are able to link together during the online room reservation process of any gender.
Students who do not have a roommate(s) preference may mark on their housing application that they are interested in all-gender housing, however, at this time, we are unable to guarantee that we will be able to place you with your preferences. This process is specifically designed for students who have roommates in mind.
Once student’s have linked during the online room reservation process, they will arrive to Housing Office for the in-person room reservation dates (listed on the room reservation website and emails) and sign up for a room with a professional staff member. Students will be placed in a building that is commensurate with their current RSN (see below).
All Gender housing participants must commit to maintaining an inclusive and welcoming living environment free of discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation. All Gender Housing is not guaranteed to any student, and it will be denied in cases where applicants are attempting to secure housing for non-Platonic relationships.
Approval for All Gender housing is not designed to provide students with a room selection advantage with respect to building selection. For this reason, students approved for All Gender housing will be limited to the following buildings, based on their room selection numbers:
|7.0+||33 Beekman Double||0—6.999||All other available rooms 33 Beekman & 55 John|
Late applications, cancellations and transfer requests may be considered, but cannot be guaranteed. Unless students participating in All Gender Housing have specifically selected a room in the In-Person room selection process (or otherwise received confirmation that they have been placed in a room by a member of the housing staff), they should make plans to participate in the main room selection process. Additional All Gender housing questions can be directed to the Office of Housing and Residential Life on the 6th floor of Maria’s Tower.
