Returning Student Room Selection Process
If you are planning on returning to the residence halls for the Fall 2020 semester, the Returning Student Room Selection process is your opportunity to select your room placement for the fall. As we near the Room Selection processes, we wanted to make you aware of some pertinent information that you will need to know to secure housing for the Fall 2020 semester. By not completing all parts of the process, your housing for the fall semester will not be guaranteed and you could be placed on a waitlist.
Online Application & Housing Deposit
To be eligible to take part in the Room Selection process, you must complete the Fall Returning Student Housing Application at MyHousing. The Fall Returning Student Housing Application will only be available from March 2, 2020, to March 27, 2020 at 12:00pm. In the application, you will be able to make a $400 Housing Deposit via credit card or check. Please note that you must have a zero balance on your student account to be able to access the Fall Returning Student Housing Application and to submit a housing deposit. When you pay your housing deposit, you will receive a housing deposit receipt that you should keep for your records.
If you would like to pay the deposit direct at OSA, you will then have to bring the payment receipt to the Office of Residential Life and Housing. We will then grant you access to the application without having to pay the deposit again.
Completing this application will allow students to then form their roommate/suitemate/housemate groups in MyHousing. More information about this is located below.
Housing Deposit Waiver
We understand that paying the housing deposit might be a financial hardship for some students. The Office of Residential Life and Housing may grant a limited number of qualified students a deposit waiver. In order to be eligible, you must have a financial hardship that you can explain in detail.
If you would like to ask for a deposit waiver, email Nilam Kotadia, Associate Director of Housing Operations at email@example.com with a detailed explanation as to why you need a deposit waiver. This request will be reviewed by Nilam and Alerie Tirsch, the Director of Residential Life and Housing.
The Returning Student Room Selection process prioritizes students by the number of Housing Points they have earned during the academic year. Housing points are composed of the number of credits students have completed and their cumulative grade point average. This information will be emailed directly to your Pace University Email Address on Tuesday, February 12, 2020.
Returning Student Room Selection Process
The last step in the process is determining which type of housing you would like live in for Fall 2020 and participate in the corresponding Room Selection process.
After a room has been selected or assigned, the student will be sent information about completing a 2020-2021 Housing Agreement.
Housing Cancellation & Deposit Return Information
If a student goes through the Returning Student Room Selection Process and then decides not to return to the Residence Halls for fall 2020, they could be eligible to have their Housing Deposit returned according to the following table:

Current residents should also already have a $100 security deposit on file with OSA. The $400 is considered a pre-payment for your first-semester room charge. It will appear as a credit on your student account.
Residence Halls Available for Fall 2019
We have spaces available in all of our residence halls for fall returning student room selection except in Alumni Hall. View Residence Hall Room Types and Rates.
The spaces available in Alumni Hall are for those upperclass students participating in the Upperclass Living Learning Community - Pforzheimer Honors College Community or the Dyson Scholars in Residence Community.
