Process Change at Pace University

"Technological innovation and a change in process overhauls Pace's management culture and daytoday operations." (Pace University Annual Report, 2009)

Under the sponsorship of President Friedman and Bill McGrath, SVP/COO for Westchester Campus, Pace embarked, in 2008, upon an ongoing initiative to identify and improve processes from across the University. Dr. Christian Madu, Research Professor of Management Science, Lubin School of Business, was engaged to coach workshop participants, instructing them in his change management methods including conducting indepth analysis of the existing pro¬cess and a focus on metrics.

The workshops are a series of six twohour classes, with required attendance. The process change leaders learn process mapping, benchmarking, metrics, and a variety of diagnostic and problem solving tools, including SWOT analysis, 4M analysis, and fishbone diagrams.
