The Talent Development Department creates programs and development opportunities that build knowledge, develop skills, and enrich the staff population at Pace University. We offer a myriad of services including management and professional skills training; technology training; performance management; leadership and career development; executive development; and teambuilding, so that all staff reach their potential and Pace University can succeed and grow.
Who We Are
The Talent Development Team is comprised of three human resource professionals committed to supporting the continued growth and development of Pace’s most valuable resource, its people. Everything we do is about developing and keeping our people happy.
Susan Donahue, Director, Talent Development
Susan provides the strategic direction and leadership to the Talent Development department to ensure our programs are aligned with the University’s and Human Resources’ strategy and vision. She leads the talent management, leadership and executive development, organizational learning, and performance management initiatives for the University. Susan is always available to consult with you or your team’s professional development and growth. When not at work, Susan enjoys travel, reading, kayaking, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Julie Gaglione Werkheiser, Manager, Talent Development
Julie provides the management and professional skills training for all Pace University staff. She offers multiple open enrollment courses and is available as a consultant to determine the developmental needs of staff and suggest and/or implement training and development solutions. Julie offers quality training for all staff. Her goal is developing a culture of innovation and engagement to help further Pace’s reputation as a great place to work and study. In her spare time, Julie enjoys being a ‘foodie’, cooking, drawing and painting, reading, family, friends and travel.
Rich Carthew, Technology Training Manager, Talent Development
Rich brings extensive experience as an e-learning developer and technical trainer specializing in the development and deployment of interactive courseware and applications. As an experienced software developer, Rich draws upon this expertise to design and build quality training resources for all professional staff for the enterprise application software used at Pace. When not at work, Rich can often be found in his art studio where he creates cross-disciplinary sculptures; weaving science, technology, computing, engineering and art into aesthetically unique work.
Talent Development’s vision is to prepare and develop Pace employees, for the role they are in and the role they aspire to, in order to create a high performance culture and a great place to work resulting in exceptional service to students and the entire Pace community.
Talent Development will promote and support employee development and organizational effectiveness by providing high-quality training, career advice and leadership development programs. We will provide staff opportunities to gain the knowledge, skills and experiences to enable their contribution to the Strategic Plan 2015-2020. We will support staff in understanding and demonstrating Pace values and behaviors. We will support the Leadership Team in developing a culture of innovation and engagement, one that furthers Pace’s reputation as a great place to work and study.
