Goldstein Health & Fitness Center and NY Gym Offerings

Due to the ongoing efforts to reduce transmission of COVID-19 and rapidly evolving policy updates, the Health and Wellness Committee has made the decision to temporarily suspend all face to face wellness programs, effective Wednesday 3/11/20, until further notice. We will make every effort to offer videoconferences or webinars when possible.Thank you for your understanding as we are putting the health and safety of all our communities first.

Membership

If would like to join the Goldstein Health and Fitness Center as a member, please visit the Pace University Athletics website. For more information on membership, please contact Jeremy Pouncey, Assistant Athletics Director.

Year-round Indoor Walking Program

Human Resources has partnered with Athletics to offer a year-round walking program inside the Goldstein Health and Fitness Center. You may use the indoor track, on Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.. Please complete the walking program registration form and return it to Jeremy Pouncey and bring a valid Pace ID when you enter the Goldstein Health and Fitness Center.

Tai Chi Classes - Suspended until further notice.

If you are looking for a way to reduce stress, consider tai chi (TIE-CHEE), an ancient Chinese tradition that was originally developed for self-defense. Today, tai chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that's now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Tai chi, often described as meditation in motion, is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion.

We have partnered with the Confucius Institute to offer this program once a month, free of charge. Next class will be held on Thursday, March 5  from 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. in the Goldstein Athletic Center, Aerobics Room. Upcoming dates: March 26; April 9, 16, and 30; May 7 and 14. Yoga Classes - Suspended until further notice.

Classes are held the first Wednesday of the month from 12:10 p.m.–1:00 p.m. during the academic year (with the exception of September and January). Classes are offered free of charge and take place in the Goldstein Health and Fitness Center on the Pleasantville campus. You do not need to be a member of the Goldstein Health and Fitness Center. Please present a valid Pace ID when you enter the building. Mats are provided. No pre-registration required. Any level of experience is welcome at any time! New York Gym

Membership - Free!

As a reminder, there is no membership fee to use the NY gym. The gym is open Monday - Thursday from 8:00 a.m.–Midnight; Friday from 8:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.. Lockers are available free of charge while using the gym facilities, or you may rent one for $20/semester. For more information on the NY gym, or the classes listed below, please contact Ramon Montague, Athletics Facility Manager.

Bootcamp Classes

This workout is for everyone whether you're fit or just a beginner, you'll learn to work together as a team in reaching your goal of getting in shape by pushing your body and mind! Classes are offered year-round every Tuesday from 12:45 p.m.–1:45 p.m. in the Pace gym, One Pace Plaza. Mats are provided, or participants can bring their own mat if they choose to.
