Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 Upgrade

UPDATE 2/2/16:

EMAIL MAILBOXES BEING UPGRADED

ITS has been upgrading all Outlook email accounts to Exchange 2013 server (from 2010 server).  The upgrades are being completed in batches and specific groups are being identified for each batch. Staff and faculty accounts have already been upgraded and we are now in the process of upgrading student and alumni accounts.

Our upgrade schedule is as follows:
Westchester Alumni – Completed between November 29th and December 8th, 2015
Law School Students – Completed on Sunday, January 31st, 2016
Westchester Students – Scheduled between February 7th and 18th, 2016
New York City Alumni – Scheduled between February 28th and March 10th
New York City Students – Scheduled between March 20th and April 7th

What do you need to do?
When your mailbox is ready to be upgraded, you will receive an email with details and instructions.  The upgrade process takes a few hours, depending on individual mailbox sizes.  However, you may continue to send and receive emails, and use your account without any interruptions in service.  After the upgrade is completed, you will receive another email to confirm successful upgrade completion. It will be important for you to check that everything has migrated over and report any issues to the ITS Help Desk online via help.pace.edu or by phone (914-773-3333).

UPDATE 2/14/15: ITS is currently testing the migration of Exchange mailboxes as part of the planned upgrade. Stay tuned for more details about when we will begin migrating the rest of the University email accounts to Exchange Server 2013, which will happen in stages.

UPDATE 9/23/13: The latest upgrade scheduled for Wednesday, September 25th, will include a new look for the Outlook Web Access (OWA) login page (http://email.pace.edu).  No other changes will be made to the system at this time.

Starting on Monday, April 15th, and for the next several months, ITS will be upgrading our Microsoft Exchange server hardware and software.  The upgrades will allow for a more robust system, with new features and increased storage quotas.  While the upgrade is in progress, users may see references to emailnyc.pace.edu or emailwst.pace.edu in their mail clients.  Some mail clients may require configuration changes to continue to function.  Please review the table below for any changes required when using specific mail clients.

Once the upgrade to Exchange Server 2013 is complete this summer, emailnyc.pace.edu and emailwst.pace.edu will no longer be required and all users will be able to use email.pace.edu again.

For additional details/updates please visit our IT System Status page - http://status.pace.edu.
If there are any issues or concerns, please report them to the ITS Help Desk at (914) 773-3333 (pacehelpdesk@pace.edu) or online at http://help.pace.edu.
