ALLY has been seamlessly integrated into all Blackboard courses at Pace University. It will provide you with feedback on the accessibility of your content and step-by-step instructions on how to improve your content's accessibility score. In addition to providing you with insight into your course content accessibility, ALLY automatically creates alternative versions of your files. This allows students to choose the type of file they want to best suit their needs. While you're in the process of improving files, students can still access alternative copies.
What Can Faculty Expect?
You may notice varying colored gauges next to your content. These represent your Accessibility Score. Keep in mind that students are not able to see these scores. Upon clicking on the score, you will be taken to the Instructor Feedback panel.
These instructions change depending on the file and the accessibility issues found. For example, with a PDF you may see instructions on how to make the PDF tagged. Select “How to Make a PDF Tagged”. Follow the steps to find the original document on your computer and open it. Continue to follow the instructions to tag the original document and upload it again.
We've also added a short video that details the tools available to instructors in ALLY.
