Meet Alexandra Bosworth '20, an Illinois native that came to New York City in the search of opportunities in the theatre business and found her home in our Arts and Entertainment Management program. Alex's resume is filled with marketing internships and she has consistently made the Dean's List. This year she has been concentrating on her role as Marketing Director of Pace Music Group - a student-run record label - and her internship with Warner Music Group where she is a Campus Marketing Influencer. We talked to Alex about her experience bringing music to #PaceU
 
Why did you choose Pace University and the Lubin School of Business?
I knew I wanted to move to New York City and at the time thought I wanted to work on the business side of theatre, so the Arts and Entertainment Management program seemed like a great place to start!
 
Where are you currently interning? Have you had any other internships previously?
I'm currently working as a Campus Marketing Influencer for Warner Music Group. Before, I had a number of internships in the digital marketing world. I interned at WMG as an Emerging Talent Associate in the College Marketing department, at One Box Agency as a Marketing Manager, at Benny Tarantini PR as a PR Intern, and at Social Snacks as a Social Media and Production Intern. 
 
What have you been working on at your internship?
My position involves a lot of social media content creation and event planning. This semester I was able to work on some amazing projects, including working with Atlantic Records artist Max Frost to stage a surprise performance in my Managing Creativity class. I also interviewed SWMRS' lead singer Max Becker on my personal Instagram story, and went backstage with Spencer Sutherland at his NYC show to capture content. It's been so amazing to work with real artists whose music I love!
 
We know that you put together a very unique learning experience at the Lubin School of Business, can you tell us more about that opportunity?
Max Frost wanted to do a series of surprise performances of his song "Money Problems" in college classes while he was travelling around the country on tour, so his team and my boss contacted me and asked if we could do it in one of my business classes. I was super excited about it because I know that a lot of my Managing Creativity classmates are interested in working in the music industry. I worked with Max and Professor Martin Kagan to coordinate the whole thing, including finding extras and videographers! Max was super down to earth and stayed after his performance to talk to our class about his creative process and his experience working as a musician, which was amazing. 
 
Where do you see yourself after graduation? Is there a specific career path you would like to pursue?
There are so many things I'd love to do at some point that I don't have a specific career path in mind for the rest of my life. Right now I love social media and event marketing, and I love working in the music industry. So after graduation, I'd love to do something that combines the two.
 
Any advice for other Lubin students looking for internships?
Know what you want and ask for help in getting it! People are so much more interested in helping you out if you ask for help with something specific. Don't be entitled of course, and definitely be respectful, but being direct is almost always better than beating around the bush. Also, apply for a lot of different things! You can learn just as much from a bad internship experience as a good one.
