"The people that I work with are fantastic! I feel like I have made so many connections at Zac Posen that can help me in my future. Also, just being in an environment surrounded by fashion has taught me so much about the industry."
– Rachael Morris , Class of 2018

Rachael Morris '18 from Northampton, Massachusetts is a business management major, minoring in fashion marketing and digital design on our NYC campus. She’s spending her summer interning at the corporate headquarters of fashion designer Zac Posen, and has already lined up a fall internship at pop culture and fashion magazine Nylon!

Where are you currently interning? Have you had any other internships previously, or any lined up for the fall?
This summer I am interning at Zac Posen as a Public Relations/Marketing Intern, and will be interning at Nylon Magazine in the fall.

What have you been working on at your internship? Has it sparked an interest in a career/area of study you hadn’t already thought about? Or has it confirmed that you are on the right path?
Since I work in the PR department, I work a lot with samples and sending them out to various magazines and celebrities. We also focus on social media sites for the company. Press is an important part of PR so we help to recap events where the Zac Posen brand was present. This opportunity has definitely confirmed that I would like to take my career in this direction.

Do you believe your internship experience has helped to prepare you for your future?
Definitely! I feel like I have learned so much about this side of the fashion industry (even outside of the marketing and PR departments). I have gained a lot of insight that will be incredibly useful moving forward in my career.

Any advice for other Lubin students looking for internships? What Pace resources have you used to help you, and would you recommend them to other students?
I would focus on making connections with your peers. I have had so many opportunities because of this! I took Business 255 which helped me strengthen my resume but, other than that, I relied on connections and took any opportunity that came my way.

In a few sentences, describe the best thing about your internship:

The people that I work with are fantastic! I feel like I have made so many connections at Zac Posen that can help me in my future. Also, just being in an environment surrounded by fashion has taught me so much about the industry.
