2019 Writing Awards (NYC)

News Story

And the winner is ... you’ll have to come to the NYC Writing Awards on Monday, May 6, to find out! In total, $15,000 will be awarded to Pace students for their groundbreaking work in categories such as fiction, poetry, screenplays, and more.

The NYC English Department Writing Awards is a prestigious and time-honored tradition at Pace. For years, talented students on the NYC Campus with a gift for the written word have been recognized for their incredible work across multiple categories; from fiction to nonfiction, poetry to playwriting, literary criticism to linguistic and rhetorical analysis, and so much more.

In total, $15,000 will be awarded thanks to the generosity of the Sarah Willis, Billie and Curtis Owens, Richard Gill, Gerard Cannon, and James Rose funds (all former English department faculty). The Academy of American Poets Prize (established at Pace by John Ashbery and David Kermani) will also be awarded in the Poetry category.

Join us as we recognize the incredible work of talented Pace students:
