Alternative Spring Break 2018

No plans for spring break? No problem! CCAR is offering all Pace students the chance to volunteer their time helping Rockaways residents rebuild in the wake of Superstorm Sandy.

The devastating effects of Superstorm Sandy are still being felt in NYC. Join the Center for Community Action and Research (CCAR) for Alternative Spring Break 2018. In their fifth year of the program, you will be helping to rebuild homes and restore hope in the vibrant seaside community of the Rockaways! Each year, 16 students from Pace University’s New York City and Pleasantville campuses are selected to participate.

Volunteers will work on post-disaster recovery to help New Yorkers who are still struggling to rebuild after the devastating impacts of Hurricane Sandy, as well as meet with members of the Rockaway community and discuss the storm from historical and issue-based perspectives with their fellow students.
