Battle of the Chefs (NYC)
Are you ready to cheer on Pace’s Executive Chef John Olsson on October 8 as he chops his way to the top in Battle of the Chefs?
Chartwells is cooking up some competition on Wednesday, October 8, at the first Battle of the Chefs in the Student Union. If you think you can stand the heat, then get to the
kitchen Student Union to cheer on Executive Chef John Olsson as he takes on Manhattan School of Music and Marymount Manhattan University in a fight to see who can create the most drool-worthy dishes. Just try not to dribble on yourselves.
Olsson is currently the 2014 Chartwells Northeast Regional Chef of the Year for his work at the University and will show celebrity Cooking Channel personality and competition judge Bal Arneson of Spice Goddess exactly what he’s cooking with during three rounds of competition. The first round will be the chefs’ recipe of choice from Arneson’s cookbook Bal’s Spice Kitchen; the second round will feature a protein and autumn theme; and the third round will be dessert. A few lucky students will have the chance to taste the chefs’ culinary creations.
Additional judges from around the University will include NYC Assistant Dean for Students David Clark, Economics Department Staff Assistant Peter Dachille, Auxiliary Services’ Executive Director Mary Lieto, and NYC Dean for Students Marijo Russell-O’Grady, PhD.
Doors open at 11:45 a.m. and oven doors open at 12:00 p.m. For more information, please contact Catering Director Jesuina Hairston.
