The College of Health Professions will host two important events in PLV and NYC: A town hall meeting on the Affordable Care Act and a speaker series featuring a conversation with Project Rebirth.

The Affordable Care Act: A Town Hall Meeting
Monday, October 27 | 5:30 p.m.–7:00 p.m. | Pleasantville High School Library | Shuttle buses run from the campus to PLV HS

The Affordable Care Act: A Town Hall Meeting, co-hosted by the College of Health Professions and the Office of Government and Community Relations, will be an informational session for members of the University and surrounding Westchester County communities in preparation for the next State Exchange Open Enrollment period. The Town Hall will provide information related to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), how to access and register through the State Exchange, how to locate a Navigator in your community who can assist with registration, and how to locate computer services if you do not yourself have access. There will be a Q&A, a take-away Resource Information Booklet, and light refreshments served. Even if you already have health insurance coverage, you may have family, friends, and/or colleagues who would benefit from more information regarding how to gain access to health care coverage under the ACA. RSVP to Laurie Davis-Ford at


CHP Speaker Series presents a Conversation with Project Rebirth
Monday, November 10 | 5:30 p.m. | Bianco Room | NYC Campus

Project Rebirth helps individuals and communities recover from grief and trauma and build resilience in the face of future challenges. Join us as CHP Dean Harriet R. Feldman, PhD, RN, FAAN, convenes a panel to discuss best practices to foster hope, healing, and resilience over time in the face of trauma and loss.

Panelists include:

  • Renee McLeod Sordjan, DNP, FNP-BC, RN, clinical assistant professor, and assistant director of the nurse practitioner programs (FNP and AACNP), Lienhard School of Nursing, and quadruple Pace alumna
  •  Jane Bear-Lehman, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA, professor and chair, Department of Health Studies, College of Health Professions
  • Aaron Leonard, executive director, Project Rebirth
  • Tanya Villanueva Tepper, speaker, writer, and resilience queen
