A Commemoration and Conversation (NYC)

News Story

Join ōMA on Tuesday, March 5, for their 19th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration featuring a conversation with Cornel West, PhD, and Robin Steinberg, Esq.

Every year, the Office of Multicultural Affairs (ōMA) hosts a commemoration in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., inviting highly influential speakers to share their expertise with the Pace Community. This year, ōMA welcomes back Cornel West, PhD, as well as Robin Steinberg, Esq., for a very important evening of discussion.

A celebrated author and professor, West has written a number of books, including Race Matters, and is considered one of the foremost thought leaders on race and class in America. Steinberg is the CEO of the Bail Project, a national nonprofit organization that pays bail for individuals in need, with the aim of reuniting families and restoring the presumption of innocence.

The duo will discuss the theme of liberation and moderated by Lubin Director of Media Relations and External Communications Tamara Kelly. Don’t miss out on this exclusive event:

Tuesday, March 5, 2019
6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.
Schimmel Center
NYC Campus

The event is free and open to the public, but the event will feature a donation box and books for sale. All proceeds will go to the Bail Project.
