Gun control. Immigration. Food insecurity. Join CCAR for their Fall 2019 discussion groups set to address a number of important issues leading up to the 2020 US presidential election. Let YOUR voice be heard.

The Center for Community Action and Research (CCAR) are pioneers of civic engagement here at Pace. If you’re interested in advocacy work, volunteering in your local community (check out your current opportunities!), and facilitating ongoing discussions about important issues, you’ve come to the right place. And with the upcoming 2020 US presidential election, CCAR has a lot to talk about. Join them for a variety of topics on both campuses this semester:

Join CCAR for a conversation about ICE, immigration, and the enormous role this issue will continue to play in the upcoming 2020 US presidential election.

Common Hour Conversation: Food Insecurity

Food insecurity is a huge issue throughout the city, and many even experience it on campus. You’re invited to take part in this important discussion, and to learn what resources are available.

What is the Second Amendment? What does gun control mean? How can you get involved? Join Criminal Justice Professor Joseph Ryan for a conversation about current gun control debates and related advocacy.

Voter 101 Workshop

Interested in registering to vote? Wondering why it’s so important? Have questions about filling out your voter registration form? CCAR is here to assist with voter registration and answer all your questions about the process. They will be supplying NY State Voter Registration forms and Absentee Ballot applications. Make your voice heard!

Meet the Candidates

Every year, CCAR invites all local candidates running for office in the fall to address issues affecting our community and what they plan to do about it. An exchange of questions and answers with the candidates will take place. Get directly involved in what’s happening right in our backyard.
