The Confucius Institute is breaking the bamboo ceiling on Wednesday, February 18, and ringing in the year of the goat on February 22 with a fashion show, singing, and more at the Lunar New Year Celebration.

The Confucius Institute is starting off the lunar new year strong with two events featuring a panel discussion, receptions, history, dance, prizes, and more!

Beyond the Bamboo Ceiling
It’s time to talk about the bamboo ceiling at a panel discussion on Wednesday, February 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Student Union. Panelists Chi Chu, Antony Woo, Fung Tat Sang, and Junius Gunaratne will discuss insights of the Asian American business professionals and the individual, cultural, and organizational factors that affect their career progress. Professor of History Joseph Tse-Hei Lee will moderate, and a reception will follow the panel discussion.

Lunar New Year Celebration
The Confucius Institute at Pace University, along with the Pace University Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) is pleased to present a Chinese New Year Celebration, welcoming in the year of the goat on Sunday, February 22 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Schimmel Center. Ring in the lunar new year with a traditional Chinese fashion show, special performances by New York Area student groups, Chinese hip-hop, a special appearance by the UN Singers, and a raffle.
