Constitution Day 2019
We the people of #PaceU will celebrate Constitution Day by gathering together to honor our past and pioneer the future! Join us on Monday, September 16 (PLV Campus), and Tuesday, September 17 (NYC Campus), to mark this important historical event.
On September 17, 1787, the US Constitution was signed by 39 men who changed the course of our history forever. Today, Constitution Day is a time for us to come together as a new generation of Americans and shape the future we want to see. You’re invited to get involved by speaking with an assemblyman, registering to vote, entering a design contest, and more! Express what the Constitution means to you personally and share that with others at Pace.
Pre-Constitution Day and Design Contest
Monday, September 16 | 12:15 p.m.–1:30 p.m. | Kessel Multi-Purpose Room
Come one, come all! Assemblyman Thomas J. Abinanti and Professor Kate Fink will be leading a discussion about current events, and there will also be an announcement about Pace’s design contest for any PLV students interested in creating a First Amendment-themed mural. Once selected, it will be displayed on the western side of Willcox Hall—a pretty big statement for any would-be artist. Submissions are due on Sunday, December 15.
Tuesday, September 17 | 12:00 pm.–1:30 p.m. | Outside the Birnbaum Library
Look out for the red, white, and blue Birnbaum Library display! You’ll find out all the ways you can get civically engaged at Pace, while also filling out your voter registration paperwork to ensure you’re ready for the upcoming US elections. There will be free cupcakes, mini Constitutions, and plenty of discussions. Let’s celebrate this important moment in history together.
