COVID-19: Resources for Staff

News Story

As we adjust many of our University operations to a remote environment, please refer to the following guide for essential resources and information for Pace staff, including Employee and Labor Relations, mail services, hosting Zoom meetings, and more.

The University is committed to ensuring a healthy and supportive environment for all members of the Pace Community during this unprecedented time in our history. Please refer to the following information and resources, which will help ensure continuity as a University while taking the necessary precautions to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Information and Resources for Staff

  • >> Consistent with our decision to move all Pace University classes to remote learning and with the recent enactment of New York State's PAUSE Executive Order, all non-essential in-person staff are required to work remotely. Supervisors should work with employees to determine the most effective schedules to ensure both employee safety and University operations.

  • >> If you believe that reporting to work puts your health in jeopardy, or that of someone you live with who is in a high-risk category, please speak to your supervisor to discuss your extenuating circumstances and the business continuity needs of your department.

  • >> Supervisors and employees should be clear about expectations and responsibilities, and be sure that everyone has all the necessary technology and resources to carry on their duties from home, if approved.

  • >> ITS has enabled Zoom conferencing for Pace, which makes it very easy to hold virtual meetings for small or large groups. Starting one requires just a few clicks, with no need for pre-arrangement with Ed Media or ITS. Whether you are working on campus or remotely, you can use Zoom for your meetings, or Skype for Business or other video conferencing option.

  • >> Here is further information on working remotely.

  • >> All in-person events, gatherings, and meetings at Pace are canceled through May 31. No external visitors will be permitted on campus (except as outlined above to help students move out of residence halls). All in-person performances are canceled, as are all athletics events. All meetings should be held virtually.

  • >> Commencement is postponed. But it is not canceled. We know how important this milestone is, and we are determined to find a way to recognize the hard work and successes of our students.

  • >> Please contact a member of Employee and Labor Relations if you have questions or need support.

  • >> If you are concerned about possible exposure to COVID-19, please use the confidential patient portal at University Health Care and tell your supervisor.

  • >> To aid in the overall health of our campus communities, we have instructed our cleaning contractors to increase frequency of cleaning for high-touch areas like railings, elevator buttons, doorknobs, and light switches. These areas are now being cleaned multiple times per day, in addition to normal cleaning routines. We have replaced the usual cleaning spray with Virex, a disinfectant product. We also have an adequate supply of Purell and disinfectant wipes on all campuses. In leased buildings where we do not directly control the cleaning staff, we’ve been working with our landlords to ensure similar levels of service.

  • >> Mail Services has temporarilty altered its hours of operation and method of mail and package delivery. Understanding many departments depend on their mail and packages for continuation of essential operations, please go to the Mail Services website for information on mail distribution and retrieval.
