Kenan Award nominations are due on Thursday, February 28! Plus, upcoming faculty development events.

Kenan Award Nominations 

Each year, the University selects peer-nominated faculty members to receive the Kenan Award for Teaching Excellence in order to recognize exemplary teaching performance by full-time faculty.

The Office of the Provost encourages you to participate in the process of selecting this year's Kenan Award recipients by nominating your colleagues, preferably one from New York City and one from Westchester.

Full-time faculty members who meet the following criteria will be considered:

  • >> Unusual effectiveness in classroom performance;
  • >> Evidence of an outstanding degree of student understanding and concern;
  • >> Demonstrated high standards of intellectual interest; and
  • >> A continuing source of inspiration to their colleagues.

Nominations are invited from faculty, students, and administrators, and should include a one or two-page supporting statement indicating how the nominee meets the criteria. 

Nominations may be submitted by emailing the Office of the Provost, with a copy to the appropriate Dean. They may also be mailed to the Office of the Provost in a sealed envelope/marked “Kenan Nominee” with a copy also sent to the Dean.

Please submit nominations by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019.
