Writing Competitive Grants: A Guide for the Perplexed
Join Avrom Caplan, PhD, and Joan Walker, PhD, from the Pace University Office of Research, invite you to an interactive workshop that goes behind-the-scenes of a national funding agency to describe the review process and what happens afterwards when the program officer makes funding decisions.
They will describe what makes for a strong proposal and the pitfalls that lead to rejection. In addition, they will describe resources offered by the Office of Research to make your grant proposal competitive for funding. All are welcome to attend.

Open Educational Resources (OER) and Innovative Education Technology Grants
Provost Quiñones is pleased to announce a grant opportunity for faculty to create an alternative free textbook and/or other online, no-cost course material for students in new or existing courses beginning in Fall 2020 or earlier. Ten grants with a maximum award of $1,000 each will be awarded. Grants can be combined if a team of faculty are developing free textbooks/resources for multiple sections of the same source.
Please submit your online application by Friday, October 25, 2019. Priority will be given to high enrollment sources. Applicants should include a letter from your department chair or program coordinator, confirming that you will be assigned to teach the OER material course during or before Spring 2021.
The Innovative Education grant will offer ten grants with a maximum award of $1000. This initiative seeks proposals from full-time faculty members that demonstrate the incorporation and application of technology into your coursework no matter the modality. Please submit your online applications by Friday, October 25, 2019. Chairs are required to sign off on all proposals.
