Family Weekend 2019

News Story

Pace is opening its doors—to your family! On Saturday, October 5 (PLV Campus), and starting on Friday, October 18 (NYC Campus), we invite you and your loved ones to enjoy some great activities, good eats, and more.

Each year, Family Weekend is a wonderful opportunity for students and their loved ones to visit campus and spend time together. It also provides the chance for your relatives to experience Pace firsthand, and to interact with faculty, administrators, and other families as well. Their visit promise to be thrilling, amusing, and entertaining! We look forward to meeting your families on campus soon.

Please make sure to register for Family Weekend on the PLV Campus or the NYC Campus (please register no later than October 13) if you wish to attend.

Saturday, October 5

Family Check-in 
9:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. | Kessel Student Center, Dean’s Lounge
Check in and pick up your swag while supplies last.

Breakfast with Faculty and Staff 
10:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m. | Kessel Student Center, Multi-Purpose Room and Boudreau Lounge
Enjoy a complimentary breakfast with your loved ones, other families, and Pace faculty and staff guests.

All day Community Service
10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.Kessel Student Center Lobby
Join us for some community service opportunities and hot apple cider as we make a difference in our local community including:

  • >> Dog toys for our local Briarcliff SPCA animal shelter
  • >> Cards of support for military members
  • >> Activity packets for some of our local children’s hospitals

Nature Center Tours
11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. | Dyson College Nature Center
Sheep and goats and owls, oh my! Tour the unique Dyson College Nature Center for a closer look at our wildlife and livestock.

Hospitality Table
12:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. | Kessel Student Center, Dean’s Lounge
Have questions throughout the day? Stop by the Dean’s Lounge to get them answered.

Pace Goes Pink: Women’s Volleyball vs. Saint Anselm College
1:00 p.m. | Goldstein Fitness Center
T-shirts will be on sale for $10 to support the Breast Care Center at Northern Westchester Hospital. Come out to support our Setters and a good cause!

Fall Festivities 
12:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. | Alumni Lawn
Enjoy the fall weather outside with us when we play games, enjoy music from Pace’s pep band, and take part in other family-friendly activities.

First-Generation Family Social 
3:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.  | Kessel Student Center, Gottesman Room
First-generation students and families are invited to this special gathering to share advice and stories about special challenges and how to successfully navigate college.

Little Pups Program: Youth Friendly 
3:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. | Kessel Student Center, Setters’ Lounge
This program is specially designed for our families with younger children includes arts and crafts, entertainment, and snacks.

Pace Goes Pink: Field Hockey vs. Bentley University
4:00 p.m. | Peter X. Finnerty Field

Dinner on the Town 
5:00 p.m. | Participating Establishments
Take your student out for dinner and discover some of the great nearby restaurants. Be sure to check the Family Weekend program for special offers from our local partners.

Casino Night 
8:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. | Kessel Student Center, Boudreau Lounge
Bring your family and friends to enjoy the excitement and feel of a real casino without the worry of losing your shirt! Sit down at one of many gaming tables including blackjack, roulette, and Caribbean poker, or “go all in” at Texas hold ‘em.

Pace Idol
7:00 p.m.
Pace students have the pipes! Enjoy performances from current students who will wow you with their talent.

Saturday, October 19

Pace Master Classes and Workshops
10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Brush up on a few skills or learn entirely new ones with a bevy of classes and workshop options. You never know what you might discover!

Pace Family BBQ
12:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.
Did somebody say free food? Chow down and meet other students and their families at this all-out BBQ event. It’s sure to be sweet (and savory).

One World Observatory
6:00 p.m.
Visit the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere! The views are breathtaking and definitely Insta-worthy, just be sure to purchase your discounted tickets to visit the One World Observatory.

Sunday, October 20

10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Swing by for a last-minute brunch with your family before they hit the road.
