Freedom is Sweet

News Story

We the people of Pace University will celebrate Constitution Day with pocket Constitutions, patriotic cupcakes, a discussion, and more on Wednesday, September 17.

On September 17, 1787, the U.S. Constitution was signed by 39 brave men who changed the course of history. Now Constitution Day is a time for us to continue their legacy and develop habits of citizenship in a new generation of Americans.

Here’s how our community will celebrate the day:

11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. | Left Lobby, One Pace Plaza
Dean for Students will hand out red, white, and blue mini cupcakes and Constitutions in One Pace Plaza. Additionally, the Political Science Society will host a table, where you can hear more about Constitution Day and our inalienable rights, and the CCAR will be available to register voters.

12:15 p.m.–1:20 p.m. | Lienhard Lecture Hall
Don’t worry, PLV, there’s enough red, white, and blue cupcakes to go around. Have your cupcake and stay for a Constitution Day discussion with Professor Howard Weishaus and the Student Government Association on Criminal Justice and a Defendant’s Right to a Fair Trial. Mini Constitutions will be handed out.
