Career Services at Pace has a simple mission: to find every student at Pace a great job that could help build the foundation of a fruitful career, no matter who they are, who they know, or what their major might be. As a faculty and staff member, it is vital to be aware of the various offerings of Career Services, so that students can be directed to the proper resources and get started on the career they were meant for.
Career Services has published a complete guide (PDF) to their offerings, which we highly encourage every Pace employee to review. Below, we've included a general description of each offering, which you can learn about in more detail via the guide above, or on the Career Services webpage.
Career Services Offerings:
>>Career Counseling: Professional counselors meet with students to help identify career paths related to their major, define their career goals, create/update their resume, develop their job search strategy, and everything in between.
>>Career Assessment: At a student’s request, online career assessment tools and inventories are available to help them make informed career decisions
>> Employer Spotlight and Panels: The Employer Relations Team connects with successful alumni and industry professionals to create events where career paths and opportunities in a wide variety of fields are discussed. Panelists describe their careers, current trends, and offer suggestions in preparation for the competitive job market. The events are generally major networking opportunities
>>Prep Workshops: In just a few sessions, students can learn about acing their interview, writing a resume that stands out, job search, branding strategies and more.
>>International Students: The International Student Professional Readiness Education program (INSPIRE) is exclusive to Pace and designed for international students to find internship and full-time positions.
>>Job and Internship Fairs: Career Services holds many job and internship fairs throughout the year, specialized to meet students’ needs.
>>On-Campus Recruiting Program: Each year, a variety of excellent employers recruit interns and graduating students from Pace for professional positions. This is an excellent way to secure and internship or full-time position.
>>Practice Interviews: If students need help interviewing, we'll practice with them! They can make an appointment with a Career Counselor.
>>Job and Internship Postings: Handshake is students’ destination for jobs, internships, event information, and much more! Students can get started by setting up a profile.
>>Veterans: Pace’s Career Services team provides customized veteran career counseling focused on internships and jobs, plus a host of services at no cost, starting as soon as veterans begin their studies and continuing even after they graduate.
>>Explore Majors and Careers Online: No matter what students choose to study, they have many career paths in front of them—and Career Services has information on the web to help them explore the options that fit their personalities and ambitions.
>>Internship Program: Our Internship Program enables students to combine academic study with paid and unpaid experiences that directly relate to career interests while they pursue their degrees.
