Incarceration and Building Connection

Join CCAR in doing community service on your own time by writing a letter to an incarcerated survivor. You have until the end of February 2021 in order to submit your message of support, which will remain completely anonymous.
In partnership with the Center for Community Action and Research (CCAR), the Office of Sexual and Interpersonal Wellness, the Dyson Women’s Leadership Initiative, and Survived and Punished, this opportunity is for students who might be interested in sending a note of support to a currently incarcerated survivor.
The way it all works is CCAR will be gathering and sending messages through the end of February 2021. You’ll write a message of support using their form, and CCAR will then print and mail the letters for you. That’s it! These letters will be sent offering full anonymity to any student who wishes to participate. You can also read a sample message on the form if you need any inspiration on what to write.
To learn more about CCAR’s civic engagement programming, follow the team on Instagram or email them. Students who are currently participating in one of Pace’s programs in correctional institutions, or planning to, should email the CCAR team before participating in this project.
