Inside the Actors Studio: Alfre Woodard

Critically acclaimed actress LaTanya Richardson Jackson will be hosting the next Inside the Actors Studio on Monday, October 14. Join us when she interviews Alfre Woodard, a prolific performer and passionate activist.

The Actors Studio Drama School is proud to welcome LaTanya Richardson Jackson as a guest host for this special segment of Inside the Actors Studio. A critically acclaimed actress of the stage and screen, Richardson Jackson received a Tony Award Best Actress nomination as well as a Distinguished Performance Drama League Award nomination for her performance as Lena Younger in the Broadway revival of Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun. She received the NAACP Image Award Nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special for her role in HBO’s Show Me a Hero, was honored at the 10th Annual Lilly Awards, and has received numerous awards for her philanthropic work. Currently, Richardson Jackson is starring on Broadway as Calpurnia in Aaron Sorkin’s critically acclaimed adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird.

She will be joined by director, producer, actress, and activist Alfre Woodard, who has been nominated for 17 Emmy Awards (winning four), seven SAG Awards (winning three), three Golden Globe Awards (winning one), 21 NAACP awards (wining nine), and two Independent Spirit Awards (winning one). Her Oscar nomination as Best Supporting Actress was for her performance in Martin Ritt’s Cross Creek. Woodard is acclaimed for her dramatic performances in films such as 12 Years a Slave, Passion Fish, Down in the Delta, and Follow Me Home, and has directed and produced Grammy Award-nominated Nelson Mandela’s Favorite African Folktales. Her voice talents can be heard in Disney’s recent adaptation of The Lion King, and she will also be seen in the upcoming Apple series See. In addition to her acting career, Woodard is a longtime activist who has been involved in countless nonprofit organizations.

Please note that your email does NOT guarantee tickets. Tickets will be confirmed in the order in which requests are sent. Your patience is greatly appreciated. Tickets are not transferrable and valid only for the Pace Community member requesting tickets. An ID may be required when picking up tickets.

Friends, family, etc. who are not part of the Pace Community should join the general standby line which forms outside of 3 Spruce Street. Again, admission is not guaranteed. Should tickets be available, it is one ticket per person.
