Inside the Actors Studio: James Burrows

Award winning actor Kelsey Grammer will be hosting the next Inside the Actors Studio on Tuesday, June 18. Join us as he sits down with James Burrows, one of TV’s most respected talents and co-creator of Cheers.
The Actors Studio Drama School is proud to welcome Kelsey Grammer as a guest host for this special segment of Inside the Actors Studio. Grammer is best known for his celebrated turn as Dr. Fraiser Crane on three different television series: Cheers, Wings, and Frasier over a span of 20 years, tying the record for longest-running portrayal of a television character. A Julliard-trained actor, Grammer has won six Emmys, three Golden Globes, and a SAG Award, and has received an unparalleled 18 Emmy nominations, eight Golden Globe nominations, 16 SAG nominations, and one Tony nomination. His upcoming appearances include The Space Between, Grand Isle, and The God Committee in film, and most recently, Grammer appeared in the timely and powerful new television series Proven Innocent about a legal team that takes on cases involving wrongful convictions.
He will be joined by James Burrows, one of television’s most respected and honored creative talents. Over his distinguished career, Burrows has been the recipient of ten Emmys, four Directors Guild of America Awards, the 1996 American Comedy Awards’ Creative Achievement Award, and in 2014, the Television Critics Association’s Career Achievement Award. In 2006, he was inducted into the Academy of Television Arts and Science’s Hall of Fame and was honored by the US Comedy Arts Festival with the Career Tribute award. Burrows was recently honored by the DGA with the Inaugural 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award in Television, and in 2015, he directed his 1000th episode. Burrows is best known as co-creator, executive producer, and director of the critically acclaimed series Cheers. Burrows has also received numerous awards for his work on Will & Grace, Frasier, Friends, Wings, Night Court, Taxi, and Dear John.
