Inside the Actors Studio: Laura Dern
Academy Award-nominated actress, writer, and director Greta Gerwig will be hosting the next Inside the Actors Studio on Wednesday, October 2. Join us when she interviews Laura Dern, a prolific storyteller set to star in Gerwig’s upcoming Little Women.
The Actors Studio Drama School is proud to welcome Greta Gerwig as a guest host for this special segment of Inside the Actors Studio. She is an Academy Award-nominated actress, playwright, screenwriter, and director whose work has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. Gerwig’s latest venture, Little Women, is her second directorial film set to release this December. In Spring 2020, she will appear on stage opposite Oscar Isaac in the Off-Broadway production of Checkhov’s Three Sisters. Gerwig is perhaps best known for Lady Bird, her debut film as a solo writer and director. In 2018, Gerwig made history as the fifth woman to be nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Director category, and the first to be nominated for a debut film.
She will be joined by two-time Academy Award-nominee Laura Dern, who also won four Golden Globes, an Emmy, and two Oscar nominations for her moving and heartfelt performances. On television, Dern was most recently seen as Renata in the second season of HBO’s Big Little Lies, and on the big screen, she starred alongside Kristen Stewart in Justin Kelly’s JT LeRoy and in Ed Zwick’s Trial by Fire. This winter, she will be seen in Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story for Netflix, as well as Gerwig’s Little Women. Dern has also been prolific in her producing career, having established Jaywalker Pictures with partner Jayme Lemons where they have placed a great emphasis on storytelling in film and television.
