Abroad 101 and 102

Interested in studying abroad? Come learn how! This session will be repeated at the same time on Tuesday, November 13, and Thursday, November 15.

Language Lunch
Tuesday, November 13 | 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. | Bianco Room
Learn phrases in a new language and enjoy international cuisine. Who knows? You just might win one of the free giveaway prizes!

That’s Not What I Meant
Tuesday, November 13 | 3:25 p.m.–4:25 p.m. | 163 William, Room 1535
Language barriers and cultural differences often create confusion in the workplace and the classroom. This presentation strives to shed light on common misconceptions that occur in intercultural communication and how to work through them to build a sense of trust, tolerance, and understanding.

Crossing Borders Documentary
Wednesday, November 14 | 5:00 p.m. | Bianco Room
A feature documentary that follows four Moroccan students and four American students as they travel together through Morocco. In the process, they discover “the other” is themselves. A discussion will follow the screening!

How to Pronounce Chinese Names
Thursday, November 15 | 3:25 p.m.–4:25 p.m. | 163 William Street, 16th Floor Conference Room
It’s time for an international tea and coffee hour! Come to learn more about pronunciation of Chinese names while enjoying a midday caffeine boost. This event is co-sponsored by the Confucius Institute.

Peace Corps Information Session

Serving in the Peace Corps is a great way to immerse yourself in a new culture, learn a new language, and have the experience of a lifetime. Come to learn about volunteer experiences, ask questions about service, and gain tips to guide you through the application process.

This is a celebration of different cultures and languages from all over the globe! Enjoy diverse cooking and various crafts and activities from all over the globe to learn more and have fun doing it.

Hear from Pace alumni about how study abroad impacted their lives! They’ll be visiting to share their experiences and offering a few tips and tricks any savvy traveler will want to know.

Learn more about the AIME Mentoring program that pairs students like you with children who are at a disadvantage in other countries. You could be part of a wonderful community changing the way we connect with others.

CPT/OPT Workshop

This is the international student employment workshop! Stop by for a discussion of the requirements, eligibility, and processing for CPT and OPT. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided.
