Jefferson Award Nominations
Know a student, faculty, or staff member whose community service efforts are changing Pace and/or the world? Nominate them for a Jefferson Award by October 12, 2018.
Each year, the Jefferson Awards for Public Service looks for the unsung heroes—the selfless people who make the world a better place through volunteering and community service efforts. Known as the “Nobel Prize for public service,” the awards recognize ordinary people who do extraordinary things without needing recognition. And we know there are a ton of you right here at Pace!
The Center for Community Action and Research is requesting nominations from Pace University students, faculty, and staff for this year’s Jefferson Awards for Public Service. If you or someone you know is making a difference in the community (whether they are doing it inside or outside of Pace), nominate them today.
Last year, 12 members of the Pace Community (including six students) were awarded bronze medals for their commitment to service, and the Jefferson Awards Board of Directors selected Dyson Professor Kim Collica-Cox, PhD, to receive the Greatest Public Service by an Employee award, in recognition of her innovative "Parents, Prisons, and Pups" animal-assisted therapy program—the first of its kind on a national level. Collica-Cox beat out 75 nominees for the highly prestigious award.
All members of the Pace University Community are eligible for a Jefferson Award. Nominate yourself or another student, staff, or faculty member by filling out the Jefferson Award form! The deadline for submissions is October 12.
