Are you thinking of coming out? Questioning? Always coming out? Wondering if you should come out? Are you dating someone who is not out? Every Monday, the LGBTQA and Social Justice Center hosts Coming Out Group to discuss various issues and realities associated with the ongoing process of coming out. If you are interested in joining this group, contact Bonnie Gordic at bgordic@pace.edu or Kelly Herbert at kherbert@pace.edu. Space is limited, sign-up is required.

Trans* encompasses the many diverse identities that exist under and outside of the transgender umbrella, including: transgender, genderqueer, genderless, third gender, two spirit, and bigender. This series will include film screenings, conversations on gender identity and expression, breaking down the gender binary, learning about trans* activists and celebrities, reading critical writings on gender and trans* experiences, as well as exploring our experiences being trans* and cisgender allies.
Friday Discussion Series
Fridays, 12:00 p.m.
Beginning Friday, February 7, the LGBTQA and Social Justice Center will host a weekly discussion group on topics related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, asexual, and ally experiences and realities. All are welcome. Snacks, coffee, and tea will be provided.
All discussion groups will meet at 41 Park Row, Room 903, on Pace University’s NYC Campus.
Plus, on Monday, February 24, in honor of Black History Month, the LGBTQA and Social Justice Center will present a film screening of Brother Outsider: The Life of Bayard Rustin, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., in the Bianco Room. Brother Outsider illuminates the life and work of Bayard Rustin, best remembered as organizer of the 1963 March on Washington and adviser to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Rustin dared to live as an openly gay man during a fiercely homophobic time and the film reveals the price he paid for this honesty, chronicling both the triumphs and setbacks of his remarkable 60-year career. Rustin’s work was so important to the Civil Rights Movements that he was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Obama in 2013.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director and producer, Bennett Singer, as well as Bayard's life partner, Walter Naegle. In addition to this program, check out the LGBTQA Center's Black History Month Page on their website.
